Carmen Hill
Principal Strategist & Storyteller
I bring together big ideas, strategic thinking and hard-earned empathy for the challenges today’s marketers face.
In a career spanning more than two decades, I’ve worked as a TV journalist, copywriter, content strategist and marketing director on both the agency and client side. I’m lucky to have worked with amazing, talented colleagues and clients as well as stellar brands, including Adobe, Google and Xerox. My work has contributed to multiple Content Marketing Awards, and I’m honored to be recognized as a B2B content marketing leader.
When not sitting in front of a screen with an embarrassing number of browser tabs open, I enjoy bringing color, shape and texture together in my small urban garden, walking in the woods, and planning my next adventure to new places around the world.
“Carmen is one of the most passionate content marketing strategists in B2B marketing today and an absolute pleasure to work with. Her depth of knowledge on these topics is immense, and she strategically knows how to leverage this knowledge to improve clients’ businesses.”
— Michelle Auchter, CMO, Point B
Cool work with cool people
One of the best things about working as an independent consultant is getting to choose who I work with and what we work on together.
That means collaborating with smart, visionary leaders who appreciate the practical magic that great content brings to B2B marketing. Creative thinkers with lofty standards and impeccable taste in words. Adventurous co-conspirators who aren’t willing to settle for same-old, same-old “webinar-rinse-repeat” approaches.
Together, we strive to do more than just check a box for “marketing collateral” and just say “no” to status quo expectations to do the kind of work that elicits reactions like, “Wow, that’s cool!”
No one’s scrolling their inbox or screens hoping for more “meh” marketing content. So why settle for it?
Can we talk?
I love sharing with and learning from other smart marketers.
I have presented at Content Marketing World, SXSW, AMA PDX, Marketing Loves Sales and other industry events. I’ve also contributed to multiple content strategy and marketing webinars, blogs and podcasts, and taught the Content Strategy course for Portland State University’s Center for Executive and Professional Education in the Digital Marketing Strategies program.
